FAPSC Honors Excellence Among Career Colleges in Florida During 2012


Fifteen awards were presented during the FAPSC Annual Conference in South Florida attended by
more than 380 administrators and 270 faculty members.

Student Awards

Angie Mejia was awarded the FAPSC 2012 Graduate of the Year Award for outstanding community contributions, student success, and campus involvement.  Angie is a graduate of Full Sail University.

 

School Awards

Universal Beauty School (Sweetwater Campus) was recognized as the Accredited Institution of the Year.

New Horizons Computer Learning Centers of South Florida was named the Non-Accredited Institution of the Year.

 

 

Administrator Awards

    Maria Cristina Regueiro, Florida National University - Hialeah, was awarded the Administration & Management Administrator of the Year title.
Martin Levert from Everest University (Pompano Campus) earned the award for Admissions Administrator of the Year.
  Clint Thomas, Everest University - Tampa, was the honoree to receive the Career Services Administrator of the Year Award.  
Jason Smolen with ITT Technical Institute, Bradenton, was awarded the Education Administrator of the Year award.    
  Chanita Parsley from Everest University, Tampa Campus, was recognized as the Rickie Knobel Finanical Aid Officer of the Year.

Michael Lemus, Dade Medical College, was honored to receive the Gail Benjamin Student Services Administrator of the Year Award. 
 


Faculty Awards

Lester Frederick from Full Sail University was honored to receive the Faculty Member of the Year award from a Degree Granting Institution. 
   
Rene Lopez with Sullivan Cogliano Training Centers (Miami Gardens) was awarded the title Faculty Member of the Year from a Non-Degree Granting Institution.

 

Member Awards

Dennis Cariello, DLA Piper, was recognized as the FAPSC 2012 Associate Member of the Year.  
   
  Randy Proto, American Institute, was awarded the FAPSC Member of the Year title. 

 

 

José Regueiro Community Leader Award

The first ever Community Leadership award for a FAPSC Region was named after the late Jose Regueiro in honor of his hard work, charity, and influence in the Region I.  The winner of this award was Mr. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, former U.S. Congressman and co-author of the DREAM Act.
