Florida Department of Education Developing New Career and Technical Education Standards

The Florida DOE is engaged in a comprehensive project to review and redesign curriculum frameworks for career and technical education.  Dubbed the “Next Generation Occupational Standards for Career and Technical Education,” the project is led by a Steering Committee.  Workgroups have been formed for each of the 16 occupational clusters and Kathy Mizereck, FAPSC Executive Director, has been invited to participate in Steering Committee meetings.  We appreciate the opportunity to work with our public school colleagues, business and industry and have invited DOE staff to present on the standards at our Administrator Central Conference on February 25, 2010.
